PROP 39: VOTER ID LAW

This measure is part of the broader Trump and MAGA agenda to impose new barriers on voting to silence the votes of working-class communities. California already has systems in place for voter verification, this measure would only make it harder for millions of Californians to vote. Voters would now be required to:

• Verify proof of citizenship when a person registers to vote
• Provide identification (government issued photo ID or other acceptable ID documents) at the polls
• Give the last four digits of a government-issued ID such as a Social Security number to vote through mail-in ballots

Prop 39 would most significantly impact working-class voters, seniors, voters with disabilities, and communities that already face obstacles to voting.

Esta medida forma parte de la agenda más amplia de Trump y MAGA para imponer nuevas barreras sobre la votación para silenciar los votos de las comunidades de clase trabajadora. California ya cuenta con sistemas para la verificación de votantes; esta medida sólo dificultará el voto a millones de californianos. Los votantes ahora tendrían que:
