Gordon Mar is a dedicated and accomplished public servant who has served in various leadership roles, most notably as a former member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. With a commitment to fostering progressive social change and addressing community needs, he has a proven track record of effective leadership, community engagement, and policy advocacy. Gordon has lived with his family in the Sunset District for two decades, where his daughter attended public schools.


As District 4 Supervisor, Gordon championed historic investments in affordable housing for teachers, families, and seniors on the westside, created groundbreaking policies supporting essential workers and veterans, and secured millions in new funding for climate action and public education.


Gordon is a longtime labor and community organizer in the Bay Area. He has served as Executive Director of Jobs with Justice and the Chinese Progressive Association and currently works for the National Union of Healthcare Workers coordinating political and policy work in Northern California.
