PROP D: CHANGES TO BALLOT MEASURE PROCESS

NO ON PROP D, E, AND F! Prop D wants to take power away from the people by making it harder to put measures on the ballot, Prop E consolidates the power to sign contracts and vendors into the hands of the City Administrator, and Prop F strengthens the executive branch, allowing the Mayor to hire and fire any department heads or city commissioners. 

Mayor Lurie and his billionaire friends are trying to silence our communities. At a time when a majority of the Board of Supervisors represent the interests of billionaires and big tech corporations, ballot measures are an essential way for voters to initiate the future we want.

• This measure would make it harder for our communities to put measures on the ballot, by raising the amount of signatures needed from originally 10,600 to 40,500, and raising supervisor approval from 4 Supervisors to 6. It would also make it harder to call for special elections by raising the amount of signatures needed from 39,000 signatures to 53,100. 

The top funders of Prop D are Michael Moritz, Chris Larsen, and Lyna Lam (who are some of Trump’s biggest donors). It’s no surprise that these billionaires are pouring their money into a measure that silences our communities.

¡NO a las Propuestas D, E y F! La Propuesta D busca quitarle poder a la gente al dificultar la inclusión de medidas en la boleta electoral, la Propuesta E concentra el poder de firmar contratos y designar proveedores en manos del Administrador de la Ciudad, y la Propuesta F fortalece el poder ejecutivo, permitiendo que el alcalde contrate y despida a cualquier jefe de departamento o comisionado de la ciudad.

El alcalde Lurie y sus amigos multimillonarios están tratando de silenciar a nuestras comunidades. En un momento en que la mayoría de la Junta de Supervisores representan los intereses de los multimillonarios y las grandes corporaciones tecnológicas, las medidas electorales son una herramienta esencial para que los votantes puedan impulsar el futuro que queremos.
