REGIONAL TRANSIT MEASURE: CONNECT BAY AREA

SF LOCAL BALLOT MEASURE

No matter if you walk, roll, or bike, we all need a safe and affordable way for students, families, workers, and elders to commute throughout the Bay Area. This measure provides the funding needed to protect  MUNI, BART and other  public transportation systems bringing people into, out of, and around San Francisco.

While we support this measure, we acknowledge that it is a 1% sales tax that will be paid by everyday San Franciscans, raising $1B a year for 14 years. This tax should be paid by billionaires and corporations that are driving our communities out of the city and intensifying the need for more reliable regional transit, not everyday people that are already struggling to pay our bills.

We know we must protect and fund our public transportation, it’s shameful that our Mayor and Senator Scott Wiener want to do it at the expense of those who work in and make this city.
